VISION The Crawford County Historical Society (CCHS) will be a regional leader for cultural stewardship and community collaboration. As advocates for the preservation and utilization of Crawford County’s unique resources, the CCHS is dedicated to engaging and inspiring volunteers and visitors alike, promoting community unity, and enhancing economic development through heritage tourism. The ongoing efforts associated with preserving and protecting the integrity of the community’s cultural and historic resources will be supported by a number of vibrant, energetic volunteers. MISSION The Crawford County Historical Society (CCHS) collects, preserves, and interprets the buildings, sites, artifacts, and records significant to the community. Through a commitment to education, the CCHS fosters a greater understanding of and appreciation for our collective heritage through authentic educational programs showcasing the County’s people, places, events, and traditions. We are a dedicated advocate of preserving and utilizing Crawford County’s unique resources to cultivate economic development, enhance active involvement and unity, and create a community atmosphere that honors the past as we build our future. |
The Historical Society is a 501 (3) (c) non-profit organization
that strives to preserve the history of Crawford county. All donations are tax deductable. Our operation is funded through generosity of patrons, concerned citizens, and proceeds from, Pottery Auction, Kiln sale, Chicken-Q, Membership dues, Yard sales, and Matching grants.
