    • Richard Arlen Thomas died Monday at Shands Hospital of injuries suffered in an accident. He was 38. Mr. Thomas was born in Starke and moved to Jena a couple of years ago from Crystal River. He formerly worked for United Telephone of Florida and was a commercial fisherman; Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his mother, Lavada Thomas of Jena, three daughters, Dinah Thomas, Kimberly Thomas, and Carrie Thomas, all of Homosassa; six brothers, Buddy Thomas of Alabama, Renzo Thomas of Dunnellon, Willard and Eugene Thomas, both of Crystal River, and Larry Thomas and David Thomas, both of Jena; three sisters; Dorothy Phillips of Newberry, Louvenia Hewit of Jena and Clarisse Gainey of Cross City.
